Privacy Policy
Digital Emmaus is designed to work without an account. This policy explains what stays on your device and what third-party video services may receive.
Effective September 2, 20261. Information stored on your device
When you save a program or play a supported video, Digital Emmaus stores a small record in your browser's local storage. That record may contain the program or video identifier, playback position, duration, completion status, and timestamps for recent activity.
This watch-history record is not an account and the current Alpha does not transmit it to a Digital Emmaus database. It remains available to this browser until you remove it, clear site data, or the browser removes it.
2. Information processed when you visit
Like other websites, the hosting service used to deliver Digital Emmaus may process standard request information such as an IP address, browser and device details, requested pages, timestamps, and security or diagnostic logs. Final hosting-specific disclosures will be added when the production host is configured.
Digital Emmaus does not currently operate first-party advertising or behavioral analytics, and its application code does not set a first-party cookie.
3. Information you submit
If you use the contact form, Digital Emmaus receives the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, organization, request type, relevant URL, and message. This information is used to respond to your request, address content or privacy concerns, and administer the Alpha.
Contact submissions are processed and stored by Netlify Forms. Do not include passwords, payment information, health information, or other sensitive personal information in your message.
4. Embedded video and external publishers
Supported videos use YouTube's privacy-enhanced embed domain. When an embedded player loads or you interact with it, Google or YouTube may receive technical and interaction information under the Google Privacy Policy.
Some programs open on a publisher's website instead of playing inside Digital Emmaus. Those sites control their own collection and use of information. Review the privacy policy on the destination site before providing information there.
5. How information is used
Device-local records are used only to provide features such as:
- resuming a supported video near the last saved position;
- showing Continue Watching and completion progress;
- remembering programs or videos you choose to save; and
- keeping removals and history clearing consistent across tabs.
6. Your choices
- Remove an individual history item from My Library.
- Use Clear watch history to remove all watch-history records.
- Remove saved programs or videos from My Library.
- Clear Digital Emmaus site data in your browser settings.
- Avoid starting an embedded player if you do not want to interact with YouTube.
Clearing browser storage may also remove your saved progress without a way for Digital Emmaus to restore it.
7. Children
Digital Emmaus is a general-audience faith-formation service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly request names, email addresses, or other account information from children. A parent or guardian should supervise a minor's use of embedded and external video services.
8. Security and retention
Device-local history is retained until you clear it or your browser removes it. No system is completely secure, and anyone with access to your browser profile may be able to view locally stored activity.
Contact submissions are retained in Netlify for as long as reasonably needed to respond, keep appropriate records, and address abuse or legal concerns. You may request deletion through the contact form.
9. Changes and contact
This policy may change as accounts, analytics, hosting, or other features are introduced. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date.
