Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of the Digital Emmaus website and its private Alpha features.
Effective September 2, 20261. Acceptance
By accessing or using Digital Emmaus, you agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Alpha service
Digital Emmaus is currently an Alpha product. Features, content, navigation, availability, and locally stored data may change or stop working without notice. You should not rely on the Alpha as the only record of completed formation or viewing activity.
3. Eligibility
The service is intended for people age 13 or older. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, use Digital Emmaus only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian. You must also satisfy the age and permission requirements of YouTube and any external publisher service you use.
4. Publisher content and third-party services
Digital Emmaus organizes and links to videos and other materials supplied by independent Catholic publishers and third-party platforms. Those publishers retain ownership of their videos, names, logos, artwork, and related materials. Digital Emmaus does not acquire ownership by embedding or linking to that content.
Your use of embedded YouTube videos is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service. External publisher sites have their own terms and policies. Digital Emmaus does not grant public-performance, reproduction, or redistribution rights in third-party content.
Unless expressly stated, listing a publisher does not imply that the publisher sponsors, endorses, or operates Digital Emmaus.
If you represent a ministry or publisher and would like its listing, name, logo, or linked or embedded content removed from Digital Emmaus, please use the contact form and select “Ministry or publisher delisting.” We will review the request in good faith and remove or update the relevant material as appropriate.
5. Permitted use
You may use Digital Emmaus for lawful, personal, and noncommercial faith formation, subject to these terms and the terms of each content provider. You may not:
- interfere with the service, its players, or security controls;
- scrape, harvest, or systematically copy the library;
- misrepresent your relationship with Digital Emmaus or a publisher;
- use the service to infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights; or
- use the service for unlawful, abusive, or fraudulent activity.
6. Local watch history
Saved items and supported watch progress are stored in your browser, not in an Emmaus account. Browser settings, clearing site data, private browsing, software changes, or technical errors may erase them. Digital Emmaus does not guarantee recovery or synchronization of device-local records.
7. Formation and informational purpose
Digital Emmaus supports faith formation but does not replace the guidance of a parish, pastor, spiritual director, licensed counselor, physician, attorney, or other qualified professional. Content should not be treated as individualized pastoral, medical, mental-health, legal, or financial advice.
8. Availability and changes
Videos may be removed, restricted, renamed, or made unavailable by their publishers. Digital Emmaus may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service and may restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect users, publishers, or the service.
9. Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Alpha is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted access, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or preservation of local data. Rights that cannot legally be disclaimed remain unaffected.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Digital Emmauswill not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of locally stored progress, arising from use of the Alpha. This limitation does not exclude liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.
11. Copyright concerns
If you own rights in material presented through Digital Emmaus and believe it is being used improperly, contact the contact form with the work, URL, basis of your claim, and a way to reach you. Material may be removed or changed while a good-faith concern is reviewed.
12. Changes and contact
These terms may be updated as the Alpha changes. Continued use after an updated effective date means you accept the revised terms to the extent permitted by law.
Questions about these terms may be sent to the contact form.
